What Final Messages does

Final Messages lets you record video and voice messages and holds them privately. When one of your chosen keyholders enters their release code, you are emailed and given the waiting period you chose to cancel. After that, each message is emailed to the person it was recorded for.

What we need from you

  • Keep your email address current and confirmed. It is the only way we can warn you about a release that was started by mistake.
  • Choose keyholders you trust, and tell them what the code is for. We remind them once a year, but they are the ones who act.
  • Record only content you have the right to share, and only for people who would want to receive it.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You can change it, and sign every other device out, from your settings page.

What we promise, and what we cannot

We work hard to keep the service running and to deliver every message when it is released, and we monitor it continuously. But email can bounce, people change addresses, and no online service can promise to exist forever. Please also keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable. You can download everything at any time from your settings page.

The service is provided as is, without warranty, and our liability is limited to the greatest extent the law allows.

Optional check-ins

If you turn on check-ins, we email you on the schedule you chose. If you do not respond after three reminders, we ask your keyholders to look in on you. That is all it does: nothing is ever delivered unless a keyholder enters their code. It is not an emergency or medical service.

Ending the service

You can delete your account at any time. If we ever have to close the service, we will give at least 90 days' notice by email so you can download your recordings.
